Today marks the one year anniversary of the Orlando Pulse shooting and the daily scripture is John 4:20
If a man say, I love God, and hate to his brother, he is a liar: for he that love the not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God who he hath not seen?
After the shooting I saw quite a few unloving and uneccesary posts on social media. Posts that instead of showing compassion for the victims and their families sought to takeaway from the Pulse hate crime. Too often we are lacking in compassion, lacking in love, and not walking as Christ would have us. As other hate crimes and incidents have been in the media the divisiveness of our communities has been more and more apparent and it’s sad to see that so many allow a difference of opinion to overshadow the works and gifts that we could be sharing with one another. My heart is with those who are suffering and I’ve done a great deal of thinking and praying about what God would have me to do with my gifts to help others. On this Monday and this week I would encourage you to smile at someone you wouldn’t usually, learn about someone you share a difference with because Christ has called you to love. Not just others but also Him, so find ways to love today.
With love and respect for those mourning loved ones today ,
